The RMI Worm Gearbox from STM UK is constructed from high quality materials to the highest standards using modern design and manufacturing practices for optimal durability and longevity.
Like the CB-Helical Worm Gearbox, this Industrial Gearbox range features engineering cast iron G20 UNI 5007 housings on sizes 110, 130, 150, 180. Any smaller sized gearbox models (28-40-50-63-70-85) use aluminium SG-AISi UNI 1706 for housings, flanges and feet instead.
The RMI Worm Gearbox from STM UK features worm shafts constructed from casehardened, hardened and ground steel.
The thread grinding in the gear ratios is carried out by ZI-Profile. This enhances contact between toothed surfaces, boosting performance and minimising noise when the RMI-Wormbox is in use.
The wormwheel has a G20 cast iron hub with a casting fitted in GcsSn12 UNI7013 bronze.
It is possible to apply torque limiters to this gearbox range.
On applications where high axial or radial loads are encountered on the output we recommend fitting taper roller bearings.
