GSM Project - Hot rolling of steel plate + structured coil

As discussed in previous articles STM UK have started to establish themselves - working with GSM Italy - in the middle to heavy industry gearbox market.

Below you will find some further examples of this with technical information and pictures; regarding one of the recently completed projects. 

It is worth mentioning at this point that during the past few years STM UK have been working closely with Bauer UK on some of these projects, to provide a complete range of drive solutions for any industry and any application.  We are very happy to be working alongside Bauer and believe it benefits our customers, and theirs, to offer such a comprehensive range.

"Working in partnership with Danfoss Bauer UK we have recently supplied a drive system to be used on a new combination mill for the hot rolling of steel plate and structured coil for a new plant based in Brazil.

This simple arrangement consists of two large helical-bevels (RXV2/820) with a ratio of 27.1:1 positioned either side of the smaller drive unit (RXO1/808) at 7.79:1.  This smaller unit is then coupled to the input shafts of the RXV2/820.  This will give a uniform, equal speed of 7rpm from a 4pole 75kw motor which is in turn bolted to the RX01/808.  Some special requirements were requested by the client, for example reduced hollow output bore diameters which were carried out by STM/GSM of Italy".
