Heavy Duty Gearboxes

With excellent technical support from STM Spa always available to us - and our highly experienced staff - we can now look to establish our name in the Heavy Duty market.

Below you will see some of the first of these jobs out the door.

This GSM gearbox - ready for despatch - is for an application mixing animal feed.

We were contacted by our client who wanted to change the design of an existing drive, one which involved a complex set of chains and sprockets - attached to a motor/gearbox - turning the mixer drum.  Each time they had to replace the chain it was costing them around £1500 every 10-12 months.  Then the time came to replace the sprockets, this was going to cost a lot more, in fact, the cost of replacing them was going to be around the same price as the new direct drive gearbox supplied by STM.

We went and had a look and came up with a direct drive motor/gearbox configuration - as seen above - doing away with the need for expensive chain and sprocket replacements.  The gearbox we supplied is a GSM Bevel Helical gearbox RXO2/816/A/49.5.

P.S Just in case you wandered in the picture the Gearbox is sat on a euro pallet!!!

The unit above is one of the new EX range of Planetary gearboxes from STM.

These particular units are going abroad to be used on a mixer application. 

The range of Planetary gearboxes - available from STM - are ideal for a number of applications, be it conveyors, mixers or mobile applications such as hydraulic winches.  Don't forget if space is a problem we can fit another gearbox to the input to make it a right angle unit!!!
