Maybe just having a read, giving you something to think about and ultimately, we hope, learning a little more about STM UK and what we do. We will try our very best to get one done each quarter to keep you abreast of any developments and goings-on at STM UK.

There is plenty to get your teeth into in this first issue so here's a quick round-up. New website

If you haven't visited our website recently then you will get a bit of a shock when you do. As subscribers to our newsletter you are among the first to be told about our brand spanking new website, we felt it was about time for a bit of a face lift and working with the team at Give the Dog a Bone we have 'pimped our site'. We have added some exciting new products, updated our catalogues and as always there is lots of news and information about STM UK and the industry in general. STM Team, An overview

STM Spa was formed over 30 years ago and, during this time, has gone on to become one of the world's leading suppliers of Industrial Gearboxes. STM Team (the orange logo) is the 'brand' for 2 companies which are STM Spa and GSM Spa. STM manufacture a range of Industrial Gearboxes including...

GSM Spa, on the other hand, are a manufacturer of Heavy Duty Gearboxes for larger applications whose range include Bevel Helical, Parallel Shaft and also some specialist application specific Gearboxes for Extruders, Bucket Elevators and Lifting. The GSM range covers powers right up to 1,200,000 nm (about the size of your car... unless you drive a Hummer)!!

All products are manufactured using the very latest technologies and processes, are present in 65 countries, across 5 continents and produce over 35,000 Gearboxes each and every month and is still managed by the same families who created the company all those years ago.

Increased Motor Stocks

We are pleased to inform you of our increased stocks of electric motors including the Holy Grail that is IE2. All the motors mentioned in this article are manufactured in Italy, Bologna to be precise, by the fantastic MT Motori (clue is in the name) and are of the very highest of quality. They are in stock now and include IE2 Motors, AC + DC Braked Motors, Force (servo) ventilated for use with inverters and also single phase up to 1.5kw. VSD's - Inverters

Variable Speed Drives (VSD's), Inverters, call them what you will they are becoming far more commonplace and will more so when the new legislation comes in 2017, you know all about that though as you read the page on our site!! We have always offered inverters but it has not been a product we have promoted, as they say "It's never too late to start", so we have. And how could we possibly resist when given the opportunity to sell a range which are designed and manufactured, yes manufactured, in the UK. VSD's can offer significant energy savings so in our opinion it is somewhat hypocritical to ship inverters half way across the world. Heavy Duty Gearboxes

Here at STM UK we sometimes like to take a step back and remember how lucky we are to have such an extensive product range. For those of you who think STM only manufacture small worm and helical units think again... our range goes up to gearboxes over 1,000,000nm torque, just in case that does not mean much to you try this, a gearbox about the size of a small car, now I've got your attention!! Included in this special feature are Bevel Helical, Parallel Shaft and the fantastic Planetary gearbox range all of which come with a plethora of special options for specific applications.
